Frequently asked questions
Where are you based?
I'm living in Gosport, Hampshire. However, I've had clients from Chichester, Bognor Regis, Christchurch, Basingstoke, Winchester, Petersfield, Salisbury, Lymington, Bournemouth and even Portslade.
How do I choose a location?
Normally, I will provide a list of locations and talk you through when we have our "knowing each other" session.
Maybe, you want to suggest the location? Maybe is your favourite beach spot or your own home or in a studio? No problem. Travelling to your chosen locations within 15 miles of Gosport, Hampshire will be at no extra cost.
How your packages work?
Packages are split into two parts, you pay a session fee before your photoshoot to secure the date. Then, the rest is due once you have decided on your package level. Subject to terms and conditions.
Why do I have to pay a session fee in advance?
Paying the session fee (deposit) will prevent anyone else from taking your slot. The session availability is quite limited and usually I sell out. Your session fee is just a sign of good faith that you will turn up to your appointment.
How many photographs are taken during the photoshoot?
I'm always going to take more than would be included within your package. But remember, a lot of these might be out of focus, include blinking eyes or caught mid talk. Your final gallery will always have the minimum described in your packages.
When you are open?
I'm available for appointments 7 days a week. Of course, depending on photoshoot availability, location and your package, my sessions would normally take place between 9AM to 6PM.
How long is a session?
As expected this depends on your chosen package. I aim for 1 to 2 hours sessions, but are cases when this can take as long as 3 hours or even more.
What age ranges do you cater for?
Being specialised in family and newborn photography, I'm confident to say that I can cater for all ages. For those under 18, we require at least one parent to be present for the session.
What if someone is ill or if the weather is bad should we still go ahead?
If it looks like someone in your group will be ill on the day of the shoot, please let me know as soon as you can, and I’ll do my best to reschedule the shoot to another day, as illness and tiredness can greatly affect a child’s willingness to be photographed.
I don't mind working in bad weather, but if you prefer not to have your shoot when it's raining, we will reschedule.
Rescheduled dates/times are subject to my availability.
What if I book a session but then change my mind?
Absolutely no problem at all. All bookings can be cancelled within 14 days of the booking being made, this is called the cooling off period.
However, once I have completed the photoshoot you cannot change your mind, even if the cooling off period is still running. If the cooling off period is still running and you decide to cancel after I have started the photoshoot, you must pay me for the services provided up until the time you tell us that you have changed your mind.
I will refund you the total session fee by the method you used for payment within 14 days, less the cost of any photography services already provided up to the time of cancellation. Subject to terms and conditions.

What type of clothes should we wear?
My style of portraiture has an informal and casual feel, so your choice of clothing should reflect this.
If your shoot will take place outdoors, in public accessible area - possibly in woodland, the beach etc, you should wear appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear. for example, if it's been raining, wear walking shoes/boots. I may ask you to sit on grass / sandy beaches, so don't wear your best clothes!
If it's possible to co-ordinate clothing and colours, go for it. Soft colours such as whites, cream, blues works really well. Try to avoid bold patterns and colours.
How should we prepare our children for the shoot?
I encourage my clients to make sure their children are well rested prior to the shoot.
During the shoot, avoid telling your children to ‘smile!’ or ‘say cheese!’ etc. Doing this will only distract them from the camera and will also result in unnatural looking expressions - like the dreaded cheesy grin!
Who owns the copyright on our photographs? Can we copy them?
By law, I own the copyright on all the photographs we take. This means it is illegal for you or anyone else to scan, copy, save, or print the photographs in any way. Different licensing terms apply for my digital packages. Please ask for details.
If you wish to use the photographs for commercial purposes, please contact me for licensing options and costings.
