One of the aspects you’ll probably look into is the location of where the photographer is based. It also depends on how far you’re willing to travel for your maternity session.
I am Hampshire based local friendly photographer and my maternity sessions take place at an outdoor location or in-home. If your choice is an outdoor session, I will give you a few options from a list of favourite locations around Hampshire either we are talking about near Southampton, or near Fareham, near Alton or even near Hayling Island, I’m sure my list of locations will contain a perfect spot for your maternity photoshoot.
This will also be based on where you live, and we will choose a location not too far from you, given the fact you are pregnant. My goal is always to prioritize you and your comfort. If you prefer a further location, I will happily follow you there and we will create the best imagery featuring you and your beautiful bump.
My in-home sessions are also very popular, for many reasons. They happen in the comfort of your own house, which means you can change as many outfits as you wish, and you get to capture your intimate space in such a special moment of your life – the one where you become a mama.

Candid and heartfelt style from your maternity photographer?
My photography style is candid and heartfelt, documenting your pregnancy journey in the most sensible way, based on a lifestyle session.
What does it mean a lifestyle session? It means there will be less props or not at all, depending on what we decide on our call before the session. Things I might ask you to bring with you could be: a photo from a recent baby scan, a little item for your baby if you already have one, such as tiny shoes or a bespoke bodysuit.
My attention will be completely focused on you and your baby. Partners are always welcome and encouraged to join your maternity photoshoot. As a maternity photographer I will make you feel at easy and we will take as many breaks needed to ensure you’re comfortable and you are enjoying every single moment of our session.
If you read some of kind words from previous clients, you will notice that most of them mention how relaxed they felt, without any pressure for posing or forced smiles. There isn’t a session like another one, because we are all different and what works for some of you, might not work for others. Therefore, my photography style is flexible and easily adaptable to your preferences and needs.
What is my experience as a maternity photographer?
My experience as a maternity photographer is extensive. I have captured pretty bumps at the beach, in the forest, at the hill, by the river and in home.
One of my favourite sessions was at a lavender field in Romsey, capturing Hayley and her beautiful bump. I remember Hayley being quite stressed before the session, saying she doesn’t know how to pose. It only took us a few minutes to resonate with each other. We had a very relaxed session, full of laughter and happiness, sharing things about pregnancy and talking as if we knew each other for so long.
She was so pleased with her photos and decided to book a newborn session with me, when her baby Jude was born. I was so surprised when she contacted me 1 week after our newborn session, saying that her sister-in-law wants a photoshoot with her nephew, baby Jude. So, we had three sessions together within 4 months.
At the end of the day, what is really matters to me is the personal connection we create. Communication is key from the beginning. I am very responsive, and I am available most of the time for a quick chat if it’s something you’d like to know in between the booking and the actual session. Ideally, what you need is someone to fit within your personality, who can guide you through the maternity photoshoot process.
I cannot explain you how happy I am when I get new clients from saying I have been recommended to them but their friends. It means the world to me. Knowing they have enjoyed the experience fully, it’s such a great achievement for me as a maternity photographer.
My maternity photography pricing
In terms of pricing, my maternity sessions have an accessible payment plan, usually split between a deposit and a remainder. My basic package includes 10 digital images, but there’s an option to upgrade to full gallery once you have viewed your online gallery.
Also, you will get 10% discount to book your newborn photoshoot if you wish to do so. I can proudly say that most of my clients are back for a baby photoshoot, given the deep connection we have created through the pregnancy photoshoot.
