Lifestyle Newborn Photographer – Client Testimonials

lifestyle newborn photographer5

Being a first-time parent can be challenging and makes you question everything you do. You want to be the best parent to your baby, and you wonder how you can achieve that. The good news is that you’re not the only one struggling with this.

As parents, we all go through this and it’s important to understand that the best decision for your child is the one you make with your heart. This also applies when you choose your newborn photographer. If you have found someone and you like their style, you should definitely go for it.

I am a lifestyle newborn photographer, so my sessions are focused on the baby, within a natural settling, in your home. This means you won’t see many props during my sessions. This is because I want your photos to completely focus on your baby, and not on the props. I don’t want your attention to be distracted by props.

All it matters is your tiny baby, all comfy, curly and sleepy – or awake. Not all babies will sleep through their newborn photoshoot, and this is completely fine. Babies are just as beautiful when asleep or wide awake.

Client comments for a lifestyle newborn photographer

“I am worried about my baby crying and not enjoying the session..”

I hear this quite a lot from parents before their session. And it’s completely normal to be worried about your baby and whether they’ll “cooperate” for their first photos. The truth is that most babies will be sleepy, and not too bothered about what’s happening around them.

Eventually, they will wake up mid-session for their feed and for a nappy change. And I am totally up for this. My sessions are baby-led, and my priority is your baby’s needs. We will stop as much as necessary to ensure your baby is happy and you feel comfortable to continue the newborn photoshoot.

You don’t need to feel frustrated or uncomfortable when we need to take a break.. it’s absolutely normal and that’s why my newborn sessions take around 2 hours to complete. Nothing is being rushed.. all the process is natural, and I am leading the session together with your baby.

I listen to their cues and if I feel we need to stop for a few minutes, we will. No problem whatsoever. I am a mother myself and I know how important It is to resonate with the people around you, especially after you’ve just had your baby.

Most parents are saying that they are mesmerised by how their babies behaved and how I made them feel at ease throughout the session. And this is why you choose a professional to take your newborn photos. You are trusting their expertise and knowledge for handling your family memories.

“What if my baby won’t sleep during photos?”

Not a problem at all. I have experience with babies being awake during their photoshoot and the photos I’ll achieve will be as beautiful as those of when they are asleep. Some babies astonishingly have the ability to be wide awake for almost 1.5 hours. Beats me how but they are “all in” for the photoshoot! As long as they are happy awake – we are all good. This is the perfect time for cuddles!

This is the perfect chance to have the baby in your arms. Cuddled up where they belong. This is always baby’s favourite place. It means a lot to me to get gorgeous family photos for you. Picture this – natural photographs of you as a new family. It is simply priceless to capture this as you start this new journey together.

Also, not everyone wants to smile at the camera and in fact I openly encourage you not to. It is so much easier to look down towards your baby and you’ll be far more comfortable. Sometimes I do ask partners to look at each other and smile…this usually leads to laughter and gets beautiful natural images of you both.

“My house is not instagrammable ..”

The answer is that it doesn’t have to be. All I need is a room with good light and access to take photos near a window. I always ask my clients to think of their brightest room in their house. Sometimes they prefer using their baby’s nursery, or their bedroom.

Photos in the living room are also very common and beautiful. Or maybe you’d like few photos in each room. You can also use your outside area if you have one, to capture your newborn in a different environment. I am open to your ideas, and I encourage you to reach out to me before the session and ask everything you’d like to know.

If you have some favourite baby items you’d like to get in your photos, you are more than welcome to do so. I actually always ask as soon as I arrive to my sessions, if there’s anything in particular you’d like your baby to wear or have next to them. Either a toy, a special outfit, a photo with their scan etc. You don’t need to worry about anything, apart from getting your baby ready for me.

I will bring everything needed for our session. Maybe just put the kettle on, because I won’t probably say no to a tea or coffee. I like to be treated as a friend, not as a stranger. I am there to capture your family memories. I will treasure your photos just as much as you.

So please, don’t hesitate to feel comfortable in my presence. I will help you achieve that.
