Hello. I’m Diana, a family and baby photographer based in Hampshire, Gosport which is just 20 minutes away from the port city of Portsmouth. This great city is well known as being one of most known for its Royal Navy heritage.
I photograph families across all the Portsea Islands, and I’m specialised in natural, relaxed at your home family photography. Also, I love using the outdoor atmosphere and iconic landmarks for my mini sessions around Portsmouth.

An enjoyable family photography experience
Before the photoshoot think about your outfit and how it can complement your surroundings. What you wear can really change the look and feel of your photographs. You can’t go wrong with white, cream, light grey and blue.
If you want to add a pop of colour yellow works well against the purple of the lavender. Dark or denim blue and fuchsia also make for great colour combinations against the lavender glow of the fields. Try to avoid wearing black.
The aim is for your family to look coordinated, but not matching. By choosing 2-3 colours for your family to wear, each family member will look different, but you will avoid looking too ‘busy’ (clashing colours, too many colours), or looking like one colour block (too much of the same colour).
Having fun is what’s important, so wear something that makes you feel wonderful. It will show in the photos!
Planning your Portsmouth family photo shoot
Once you’ve decided to book your session, which by the way is a click away, the planning starts. The first thing I’ve always do is to actually get in contact with you once you’ve booked your family Portsmouth photoshoot to discuss the location setup, your expectations and the desired outcome from your chosen package.
Some people have an idea in their mind when comes to family photography, others are going with the photographer suggestions. Either way, you shouldn’t worry. My purpose is to capture your family at your convenience within established environment and most importantly you have the desired outcome from it.
Normally with the outdoor family Portsmouth photo shoot I know a number of beautiful locations, but I’m happy to work with your own suggestions. Some popular location are Southsea Beach, Old Portsmouth, Southsea Castle and Field, Canoe Lake, Portsdown Hill.
If is at your own home photo shoot session, we can always discuss what layout options are there during our pre-session contact. Also, I’ll share a lots of practical hints and tips, including advice on the best clothes to wear at your family photography session.
At your home family photography or outdoor family photo shoot?
Either you are choosing a home session or at a selected location, the first 15 miles around PO13 are covered within my fee. I’m happy to travel further away however there may be an additional charge for this.
Be relaxed and enjoy your day of family photography session
On the day of your session, I will take a variety of photographs – individuals, pairings and family groups. If you’ve got something specific in mind, please do let me know! We’ve spend between one to two hours together.
I will guide you through the session to help you feel relaxed – most of my images with children are based on fun and games to keep everyone relaxed and capture natural expressions. Most of families, are focusing their session around the children, either is a baby boy or a baby girl. Is highly recommended, especially if are below 2 years old, to be well rested and fed.
My goal is to capture the energy and the personality of your family without compromising your comfort.
Weather
Only for outdoor Portsmouth family photo shoots: In the event of bad weather, I will always try to rearrange your booking for an alternative day wherever possible – please note that this is very much dependent on availability, and may be on a different day/time to your original booking.
Your Portsmouth family photography images
Your photographs will be ready to view in an online gallery, approximately 1 week after our photo shoot. You will receive the edited digital files included in the most basic package. The remaining images in your gallery can be purchased as digital files, using an upgrade fee. Your gallery will be live for 7 days for you to make your selections.
